I am angry, really angry concerning current political situations worldwide, concerning the comeback of conservative and patriarchal structures. I am mad, mad at men catcalling me, mad at men thinking they own women, own their body and can decide over them.
I am mad, I wanna scream, I wanna hit the wall and I wanna fight back, when men sexualize me.
But as a woman I've learned to keep quiet. I was taught to smile and to be friendly, to never show my anger, because angry women are hysterical and cannot be taken seriously.
Women are not supposed to be angry, it's inappropriate. A woman is not supposed to contradict a man, a woman should be well-behaved, neat and good-looking.
Angry men however are masculine, powerful, have authority and leader qualities.
But I've had enough of this, enough of all the injustices. I don't want to swallow my anger anymore, I am tired of all this shit, I wanna scream it out and fight back, because I am so so angry.
And exactly this is what my project is supposed to be about. To make my anger seen, make female anger seen.
I want to express publicly what it's like to be a woman living in the patriarchy, connect with other women, because our experiences with men are universal. I want men to rethink their actions, I want them to respect me, want to yell at them and also want them to be ashamed and a little bit afraid of me.
You maybe can tell, that while typing this, I am in rage again. AAAHHHHHHHHHHH

I recently listened to a lot of feminist songs and found some of the lyrics very empowering and inspiring. I thought about collecting these text passages and design different posters, flyers and stickers out of them. I then want to spread them publicy to rise awareness for the topic, to make people think and talk about it and to express my anger in a kind of creative and activist way.
The following link leads to a (not yet finished) playlist I created with songs I want to refer to.

All day, every day, therapist, mother, maid,
Nymph, then a virgin, nurse, then a servant
Just an appendage, live to attend him
So that he never lifts a finger
24/7 baby machine
For somebody I thought was my saviour
You sure make me do a whole lot of labour
It’s not an act of love if you make her
You make me do too much labour
(all lyrics by Paris Paloma, labour (the cacophony))
Du hast das Leben schwer, du bist cis, weiß und männlich
Sie hat das Leben schwer, denn sie lebt im Mackermeer
Ach, wär das Leben schön, gäb‘ es keine Macker mehr
(by Kleptos, Mackermeer)
(all lyrics by Pöbel MC, Boys Cry)
I am not your angel, I am not your saint
Let’s put you in a corset, now let’s see who faints
I am not your angel, I am not your saint
Touch me again and I’ll cut off your hand
There are some things you’ll never understand
Whore, mother, sister, slut
I am the, I am the divine goddess of the smut
Nurse, sinner, virgin, bitch
I am the, I am the vengeful
daughter of the witch (mother!)
(all lyrics by Kiki Rockwell, Burn your Village)
